February 21st:  "Games"

The challenge for the day is "Games".

I thought for "Games" I would go with two of my childhood favorites:  "Mouse Trap" and "Clue."  Mouse trap was always one of those games that my brothers and I played with constantly but never actually played the game.  The contraption itself, to catch the mouse, was always much more fun to us, than actually trying to win.  Funny, I don't think I even knew how to actually play this until I had kids of my own.  I still prefer to just play with this game straight up as a toy than a game.  Poor little mouse... he was always bound to be captured that way.  I guess I'll never change.

Now the second "Game" I absolutely loved as a kid and still do is "Clue."  To me, this is the original escape room.  I am such a huge fan of puzzles, mysteries, and strategy that this game was always right up my alley.  I loved it so much, I had to re-get it as an adult and talk the kids into playing with me.  (Bribery works wonders!)  And although we had a themed version of this, I still really just wanted the original.  It just wouldn't be the same without Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, or Colonel Mustard.  I don't care how pretty the other pieces were, there is nothing quite like the original.  I like the idea that you can play it sly when it comes to showing your cards and to guess and reason what everbody elses cards are by what you have or already seen.  It's the perfect family game or even great with just your siblings.

So what are your favorite "Games"?  Did you have any childhood games that you just can't pass up to this day?  Let us know what was your favorite "Games" then, and what is your favorite "Games" now.  We can't wait to see what you love.
